The Swire Centenary & Cathay Pacific and Swire/Cathay Pacific
Scholarships are generously funded by the Swire Educational Trust,
founded by John Swire & Sons. Four fully funded scholarships are
available to graduate students demonstrating exceptional academic merit
and/or potential who will commence study on a course offered by St
Antony's College in 2013-14.
Am I eligible?
The scholarships are open to applicants who are permanent residents
of Japan or China (for the Swire Centenary & Cathay Pacific awards)
or Hong Kong (for the Swire/Cathay Pacific awards) who have completed
the majority of their formal education in Japan (for Japanese permanent
residents), China (for Chinese permanent residents) or Hong Kong (for
Hong Kong permanent residents).
The scholarships will be awarded primarily on academic merit, although financial need may be taken into account.
Scholars must intend to return to Japan (for Japanese permanent residents), China (for Chinese permanent residents) or Hong Kong (for Hong Kong permanent residents) after completing their course of study. Preference will be given to applicants who plan to pursue a career in government, business, academia or a recognised profession.
Applicants must apply for admission to a graduate course of study that is offered by St Antony's College to start in 2013-14.
Please ensure you meet the requirements for entry to your course, including English language requirements. See the University's course guide for more information.

What does it cover?
100% of university and college fees, and a grant for living costs (the rate was £14,100 in 2012-13).
Economy airfares to and from London are provided at the beginning and end of the scholarship.
The award is made for the full duration of a student's fee liability
for the agreed course. If your scholarship is offered for a course
lasting more than one year, the continuation of your scholarship each
year is subject to an annual renewal process based upon satisfactory
academic progress.
How do I apply?
In order to be considered for this scholarship, you must submit your
application for graduate study by the January deadline and you must have
secured a place on your chosen programme of study by the expected final
decision date (March 2013).
It would help if you select St Antony's College in the ‘college choice’ section of the application form, though this is not compulsory.
